Narnia

We visited the beautiful Snowy Mountains - Mount Kosciuszko and
New South Wales government site for some fun in the snow.

We certainly got snow and the skiiers were overjoyed. I, however, spent one day nursing one child to good health, only to have the other child fall ill the next day.

No skiing for me, instead I spent my days knitting the Swallowtail shawl from an old Interweave Knits magazine (scroll through the pictures to view). I have made lots of mistakes but I am determined to learn how to knit lace. Anyway when it is finished and scrunced up inside my jacket or coat, nobody will be able to see the errors I've made. I will make another one using different wool and it will be magnificent.

Finally after two days and nights of snow and wind and rain we have this.

While driving along the Alpine Way down the mountain to Khancoban we had this. The snow is piled high on the branches of the trees.

Driving ever so slowly using chains and followed by the park ranger - what a nice guy! It was nice to be able to thank him - he probably doesn't get enough thanks!
Oh, we even saw a horse in the snow. How cool was that... now I want to watch The Man from Snowy River again.

How nice to see those beautiful green hills after all that snow.
